What can each role do?

Everyone in Stacks has a role that decides what they can see and change. You set a person's role when you add them, and can change it any time on the People page.
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including billing and transferring ownership. One per account. |
| Admin | Settings, roster, reports, and approving time off. |
| Scheduler | Create, edit, and cancel shifts; manage time-off requests. No settings or billing. |
| Viewer | Read-only view of the schedule and Today board. |
| Staff / Volunteer | See their own shifts, request time off, and offer shifts for coverage. |
Tip
Not sure what to pick? Most desk staff are Staff, occasional helpers are Volunteers, and whoever builds the schedule is a Scheduler or Admin.
Some of these — like who can see the schedule or request time off — are also tunable under Settings → Permissions.
